Mrs. Ernestine Bennett of Tampa, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 16 at 12:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Reverend Karl V. Smith, Sr. of Greater Bethel A.M.E. of Gainesville, FL, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Bennett was a native of Smithville, GA and the eldest of 6 children. She was a resident of Tampa for 63 years. She was a faithful member of Belmont Heights Church of Christ until illness prevented her from attending services. She was employed at Lawyer’s Title as the supervisor of the key punch operators. She was preceded in death by: parents, Odessa Bess, Smithville, GA and Melton Watts, Winter Park, FL; her eldest son, Otto Bennett, Jr.; sisters, Brenda Wade, Tampa, FL, and Rosie Cutts, Smithville, GA; and her brother, Henry Bess, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Otto Bennett, Sr. her husband of 63 years; daughter, Paula (Darryl) Washington of Archer, FL; son, Milton (Lesila) Bennett of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Devin Bennett, Clarksville, TN, Ciera Bennett, Tampa, FL, Kirsten Washington, Archer, FL, Alexis Bennett, Tampa, FL, Darryl Washington, Jr., Archer, FL, Christian Bennett and Jordyn Bennett, Dallas, TX; sister, Doris Bess, Americus GA; brother, Michael Bess, Smithville, GA; brother-in-Law, Douglas Cutts, Smithville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, November 16 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
