Ethel Howard Obituary

Mrs. Ethel Mae Howard of Tampa passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019.  Funeral services will  be conducted Saturday, November 16 at 11a.m. at Mt. Tabor M. B. Church, 2606 W. Grace St., with Pastor T. D. Leonard, officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Mrs. Ethel Mae Howard was born and raised in Leslie, Georgia and moved to Tampa in 1942 as a young adult. 

In 1943, she joined Mt. Tabor M. B. Church and was a loving, faithful member for over 76 years. She served in the Choir #2 Ministry, President of the General Mission Ministry, Senior Women President of Congress #2 and also taught the Women’s #2 Sunday School Class, the Women’s Baptist Training Union Class and was an advisor/Teacher to the Junior Women’s Ministry as well as the Women Intermediate Ministry. 

Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by: her husband, Mr. Lee Howard; son, Mr. Ruben Howard; granddaughters, Joyce Howard and Barbara Howard; and niece, Ilene Hudson. 

She leaves loving and devoted memories to: her sister, Clara Bell Thomas of Leslie, GA, granddaughters, Carolyn Levenson (Daniel) and Doris Howard; great grands, Jerry Jr. (Carla), Timothy, Janae’, Jonathan, Jackie Jr., Joyce, Cedenia, Jaela, and Jeremy; numerous nieces and nephews, among whom are, Theodore Leeks Jr., Dorothy Spiller of Tampa, Leroy Thomas (Deborah), Eddie Thomas (Velma), Alice Reddick (Ned), Betty Day (Roger), Ethel Franklin, Carolyn Whitehead, Willis Thomas, from Leslie, GA, Ronald, Crystal, Kim, Adrian, Devon, Terry, Eugene, Demetrise, (Tampa) Joann and Willie Green of Miami, FL, Mae Frances Strickland and family, as well as many cousins and family, and her Mt. Tabor Family. Special recognitions to the following families, Kathy Miller, Tammy Austin, Chunn, Turpin, Ennis, Alexander, Ferderigos, Hewit, Rauenhorst and the Bayshore Pointe Administration and Staff. 

The remains will repose after 5 p.m. Friday, November 15 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
