Albert Bailey Obituary

Mr. Albert Bailey of Tampa, quietly made his transition on the morning of May 27, 2020.  A Private funeral service (closed to the public) will be conducted Saturday, June 6, at 11a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Ave, with Elder Nathaniel Johnson, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.   Please follow the CDC guidelines.  

Mr. Albert Bailey was a native of Tampa, FL, where he resided for 73 years. He was the son of the late Albert Bailey Sr. and Mildred Johnson-Bailey. He attended Howard W. Blake C/O 1965 and was a member of St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. 

Mr. Albert Bailey was well-known in the West Tampa Community, a retired Cosmetologist and Entertainer. He was a member of the vocal group, “Faith, Hope and Charity” out of Tampa, FL. They were best known for their 1975 hit, “To Each His Own”. They recorded 6 albums between 1970-1978, which included 5 chart topping hits and 2 gold albums.  

Mr. Albert Bailey was admired and respected by all who knew him, both young and old. His jovial spirit, charisma, and infinite wisdom lives on in our hearts. We will miss his mortality as we embrace his immortality. 

He was preceded in death by: his father, Albert Bailey Sr.; mother, Mildred Johnson-Bailey; grandmother, Thelma Y Wilson; brother, Randal Watkins Sr.; sister, Marlene Miller; nephew, Mark Watkins; uncles, Theodore, Nathaniel, Arthur Johnson and Clayton Wilson Sr.; cousins, Thelma, Valorie, Patricia, Theodore, Charles, Arthur and Jodi Johnson. 

 He leaves to cherish his memory: 4 sisters, Teralyn Jones, Charlene Webb (George), Mildred Henderson (Carlton) and Charlotte Scruggs; 2 brothers, Johnny and Reginald Bailey; aunts, Sara Whittington, Veronica Wilson and Nancy Johnson; 15 nieces & nephews, Bernadette Watkins, Randall Watkins, Billie Jean Mallory (Terrance), Kimberly Jones, Johnnie Jones III, Yolanda Jones (Antwan), Adria Webb, Charlene Bowens (Monte), Adrian Bailey-Ghee (Andre), Keith Bailey (Raishara), Shakisha Bailey-Lawson, Regan Willis, Robert Kelly (Eldrena), Robbin Scruggs, and Carmen Hilliard; 42 great nieces & nephews, Terrel, Tiffany, Trent, Taylor, Marissa, Desiree, Myla, Sherron, Derlannah, Tiara, Arsenio, Amari, Antwan Jr., Andre (Shakari), Terrance (Shacora), Marquise, Eboni, Ronshay, Aundria, Ashanti, Andre Jr., Shakyla, Kori, Kenzli, David Jr., Diamyn, Ronald, Maurice, Darnesha, Eriel, Robert IV, Rodnesia, Emmanuel, Naomi, Jayla, Nathaniel, Faith, Gianni, Jarien, Danielle, Andre Sr., and Terrance Mallory Jr.; 20 great-great nieces & nephews, Eriance, Shakyla, Elijah, Tyson, Johnathan, Terrance III, Tremaine, Taliyah, Tia, Tariq, Jewelz, Messiah, Mason, Carmello, Kynii, Harmony, Amari Jr, Amir, Daniah, and Aundre Jr.; cousins, Gwendolyn, Ernestine, Tanya, Wanda, Natalie, Gail, Dorthy, Lila, Kathy, Nikiki (Vaughn), Tiffany (Donald Jr.), Lillie, Khadya, Laverne, Pearl, Wesley, Theodore Jr. (Doris, Donald, Mustafa, Mohamed, Vernis, Elder Nathaniel Johnson, Horace, Johnny (Rebecca), Ricky (Rosalyn), Clayton (Stephanie), Christopher (Venita), Darren (Teresa), Andre Owens, Kay Frances, and Debra; Close at heart, Ollie Blanchett, Oscar Hill, Brenda Hilliard, Wesley Jones, Johnnie Jones Jr, Sherri, and Vera; special friends and families, Sharon Dean, Sadie Perry, Glenda Givens, Joann Thomas, along with the Brooks, Sanders, Bowens, Oliver, Dean, Hill, Hilliard, Fells, Lovett, Russell, and Redmon families; special daughter, Rhonesia Dennard and a host of other relatives and friends.  T

he remains will repose from 3-7pm, Friday, June 5, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines.
