Mr. Alonzo Peoples, Sr. of Tampa passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 7 at 12 Noon at Mount Olive AME Church, 1902 W. LaSalle Street, Tampa, Reverend Gregory V. Gay, Sr., Pastor with Elder Milton Peoples, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Alonzo Peoples, Sr. was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. Mr. Peoples was employed by Mac Papers for 29 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Tawanda Peoples; daughter, April Peoples; two sons, Alonzo Peoples, Jr. and Devonte Hackney; four grandchildren, Treasure, Trinity, Alana and Jaylynn; mother, Minnie Peoples; mother-in-law, Marie M. Williams; brother, Milton Peoples, Jr. and wife Gloria; two sisters, Linda Partin and Arlatha Overstreet; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Edwards and Sandra Simpson; brother-in-law, Herman Munn, Jr. and wife Dale; six nephews, Milton Peoples, III, Terrance Peoples, Aaron Peoples, Samuel Partin, Steven Partin and Walter F. Overstreet III; two nieces, Michelle Peoples and Amber Overstreet; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and a host of dear and wonderful friends, Wilmon Reddick, Charlie Davis, Nathaniel Hornsby, Darryl Maynard, Harram Temple #23, Co-workers and many more friends.
The remains will repose after 5pm. Friday, March 6 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
