A time of memory for Mrs. Alyce L. Knowles. Alyce transitioned peacefully at her home on Monday, October 12, 2020, in the presence of her lovely family. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Bishop Jimmie E. Moore, officiating. Please follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
Alyce was born to the union of Joseph and Mildred Moncur. She was a graduate of Middleton Senior High School, class of 1957. She obtained her Associates degree from Gibbs Jr. College. Alyce was employed with General Telephone & Electronics Corporation (GTE) until her retirement. Alyce was fun, loving, high spirited, and enjoyed being around people. Undeniably, she loved her husband, children and family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Moncur and Mildred P. Gray.
Alyce leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband, Ivan T. Knowles; her children, Rhonda Thompson, Raymond Arnao, Jacqueline Knowles, Deborah Knowles, and Glenn Knowles; grandchildren, Rholiya (Eugene) Williams, Keisha Knowles, Arelis Logan, Michael Arnao and Raymond Arnao IV; great-grandchildren, Alexys Reese, Chad Demetrius Reese, Kaliya Walker, Cameron Roberts, Jeremiah Arnao, Rayah Arnao, and Savannah Houghtalin; aunt, Willard Taylor; cousins, Willie F. Anderson, Mildred P. Jackson, Ronald J. Anderson, Doris (John) Jackson, Pastor Carolyn Riggins, Leroy (Linda) Moore, Bishop Jimmie (Elena) Moore, Debra (Lovarnso) Walker, Sabrina (Lee) Robinson, Charlene Santana, and Alonza Giles; adopted children, Sheryl Herbert, and Ava Flash; lifetime friends, Gloria Austin, Everett (Nora) Thomas, Pency (Shelia) Hardin; and a host of other family members and close friends.
