Mr. Andrew Charles Stancil of Tampa, Florida passed away quietly on Monday, August 31, 2020 at Advent Health Hospital in Sebring, Florida. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Evangelist Rosemary S. Gadsden, officiating. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513. Please follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
Andrew Charles “Blue” Stancil, son of the late Malachi and Carrie L. Stancil was a native of Tampa, Florida. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Middleton High School, Class of 1970. Shortly after graduation, Andrew enlisted into the United States Army. Andrew also attended the University of South Florida and the University of Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Carrie L Stancil; father, Malachi Stancil; and brothers, Carl, Melvin, and Theron; and niece, Toyaka (Tee Tee) Green-Wilson.
Andrew will be remembered for his love of reading, watching and playing sports. He loved laughter and most importantly he loved his children, family and friends.
His life will be forever cherished in the lives of his children: Kennetha M. Carter of Tampa, Florida, Adrian (Nicole)Woodson of Hutto, Texas, and Tamarah (Clarence) Sanders of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Rosemary (Kraig) S. Gadsden, Lenora Stancil-Green and Carolyn S. McCarty, all of Tampa, Florida; nieces, Erica N. Reed, Latoya S. Teartt (Melvin), Tereka D. Hepburn (Mark), Karmen Gadsden, Kimberly Gadsden and Brittney Stancil; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren; aunt, Minnie Robinson of Lakeland, FL; Special Friends, Johnny B., Al Kelly and James (Zip) Summers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The visitation was held Tuesday, September 8 from 3-7 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
