Mr. Anthony Eugene Jones of Tampa, FL passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Pastor Carolyn Riggins, officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery. Please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.
Mr. Anthony Eugene Jones was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida born to Ms. Vila Jones and Mr. Johnny Armstrong. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Tampa Bay Technical High School, Class of 1977. Mr. Jones was a wrestler and football athlete at Tampa Bay Tech which led to him trying out for the Tampa Bay Bucs in 1978. He earned an Associate Degree in education from Hillsborough Community College, Class of 1987. Anthony was employed with School District of Hillsborough County as an Autobody Instructor for 22 years. He also managed Club Manilla for 15 years.
On Saturday, April 10, 2021 Anthony was called home to join his beloved wife, Cheryl L. Jones and his parents, Vila Jones and Johnny Armstrong.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories with: a devoted daughter, Ms. Ztoria Jones (Sampson); granddaughters, Mauricia Nolen and ZaMaria Ming; brothers, Pierre Jones (Angela) and Delano Armstrong (Donnalisa); sisters, Catherine Jones and Nicole Gyden (Clarence); favorite nephews, Christopher Williams (Meredes), Lamar Williams and (Trelice); Godson, Shondrae; lifelong friends, Deacon Teddy Glenn (best friend), Jeffrey Jones, Emmett Nelson, Rufus Ford, and Tajar (Brigitte) Ray; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. It would cause a BIG void in Anthony’s heart to miss naming any person. However, space is inadequate to name every family member and friend who was a part of his life. Therefore, everyone who has alphabets from A to Z in their name is now acknowledged here.
The remains will repose from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL. We are asking family and friends to please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.
