Ms. Barbara Ann Copeland, of Tampa, Florida, passed away, Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, October 2nd, 11:00 a.m. at the Ray Williams Funeral Home Chapel, 301 N. Howard Ave., Tampa, FL 33606. Minister Jimmie Solomon will officiate. Interment to follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, FL 33610.
Ms. Barbara Ann Copeland was born June 25, 1954, in Albany, Georgia to parents, Emory and Ernestine Solomon. She was the second child of four girls born to this union.
Growing up, Barbara attended the public schools of Hillsborough County. She was a graduate of Howard W. Blake High School Class of 1972. She continued her education at Hillsborough Community College, graduating with a degree in Computer Science. Ms. Copeland was employed with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department as a Community Service Officer, working in various departments throughout the years. She retired in December 2017.
She was a member of Manifestations of His Word Ministry (Evangelist Darlene Wilson), and periodically, attended Revealing Truth Ministries, under the late, Pastor Gregory Powe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Ernestine Solomon; her sister, Gloria Solomon and, a son, Shyrone Nelson.
Her life will forever be cherished by her children: Chedinia Floyd (Kenneth), Keenis Copeland, (Gregoria), Zarkissa Copeland (Matthew); step daughter, Lisa Hall; grandchildren: Chardell Burns, Rosario Tolbert, Chardrick Copeland, Shambra' White, Chandi Steplight, Keyona Copeland and Jamarkis Allen and Darnell Wilson; step grands: Terrence Long, Devon Scott, Eulisa Hall, Chiquida Scott; great grands, Serenity, Michael, Mario, Treyvion ,Ma'khi, Nevaeh, Harmony ,Jaliyah ,Tyron, Akeela Lyndon, Terrance, and Taj; sisters: Patricia Anderson and Denise Nellons (Ray); nephews, Jamarion, Robert, Terrance and Brandon; niece, Tanyale; special friend: Luqman Abdul Ali; long-time friends: Barbara Davis, Alice Andrew and Tina Johnson; extended family, Kimberly, Tanika, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Public visitation will be at Ray Williams Funeral Home, Friday, October 1st from 4pm -7pm.
