Mrs. Beatrice Hortense Singleton, 93, of Tampa, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 3 at 11 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Missionary
Baptist Church, 2002 N. Rome Avenue with Reverend Dr. C. T. Kirkland, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Please follow the CDC guidelines.
Mrs. Beatrice Hortense Singleton affectionately known as “Mrs. Bea”, was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and a graduate of Brewster Adult High School. Mrs. Singleton was a member of Mt. Pleasant M. B. Church where she served on the Usher Board and was a member of the Choir. She was a devout Christian, loving and proud homemaker for her family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Walter and Dorothy Young; husband of 59 years, Samuel James Singleton; son, Robert Lee Singleton “Chip”; and three siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children, Pauline Singleton Black, Samuel V. Singleton, Jr. (Andra), Dr. Dorothy M. Singleton, and Jewel Singleton; grandsons, Philip Carey, James Hardy, Jr., Rante Singleton, Dante Singleton, Dietrick Singleton, Robert Singleton and Christopher Singleton; granddaughters, Treniece Singleton, Anndrea Carey-Baskett and Jessica Singleton; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The remains will repose from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 2 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines.
