Bernice Smith

Ms. Bernice H. Smith of Tampa passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020.  Funeral services will be conducted, Friday, August 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Minister Luis Lugo, officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.  Please follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required

Ms. Bernice H. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida.  She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Don Thompson High School later renamed Howard W. Blake High School.  She retired as a Customer Relations Agent for GTE/Verizon after many years of dedicated service. Ms. Smith accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Julius Howard and Alcoria Reddick Mobley; children, Katriana Yvette Brown and Alonzo Howard; siblings, Doris H. Singleton, Julius E. Howard, Joseph L. Howard, and Israel L. Howard; and grandchildren, Shawnte T. Beckham and Eugenia Brown.  She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children, Larry Brown (Agnita), Cecelia Albury (Bernard), Terry McCrea (Eddie), and Cedric Brown; grandchildren, Maurice Howard, LeChrystal Williams (Mark), Donte Beckham, Christopher Brown, Ebony Baham (Robert), Edmonde McCrea, Carina McCrea, Torry McCrea and Kierra Brown; great grandchildren, Syrterrek, Ryanna, Donte, Jr., Daiya, Tanaya, Kinte, Tyree, Mark Jr., Domonic, DeMarco, Aria, Sahira, Akeria, Rylee, Rydell, Joseph, and Josiah; nieces, Gloria, Carolyn, Darlene (Gregory), Katrina (Ronald), Valarie, and Kimberly; nephews, Robert (Angelina), Lawrence (Ora), and Leonard (Mattie); first cousins, Horeta, Davie and Mary; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.   

The visitation will be held Thursday, August 6th, 3 – 7 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
