CMS David A. Bryant Sr. Obituary

Retired, Chief Master Sergeant (CMS) David A. Bryant of Tampa, FL passed away at home on Saturday, May 20, 2023.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, 9:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, Fl 33610 with Pastor Anthony Greene, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Garden, Officiating. MASK RECOMMENDED.

David A. Bryant, son of Ruth (Clark) Bryant and Dave Bryant.  Born May 3, 1925, in Okeechobee, FL.  He was baptized in the early 1930s by his Great Grand Uncle, Rev. William Shorts and became a member of Friendship Baptist Church, St. Cloud, FL where he was currently a member at his passing.  He married Bertheness Mount Bryant on June 14, 1943.  He volunteered in the U.S. Army and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.   He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after 30 years of active military service.

He was preceded in death by: his devoted, loyal, and loving wife of 78 years, Bertheness Bryant; and parents, Ruth Clark Bryant, and Dave Bryant.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, David A. Bryant, Jr., Tampa, FL; daughters, Wanda Lisa Brown (Wayne W. Sr.), Tampa, FL, Rujel Denise Buggs (Ron), Valrico, FL;, and Reanata Yvette Hickman (Phillip), Waldorf, MD; grandsons, Wayne W. Brown, Jr, Phillip Hickman, Jr. (Mariel), David A. Bryant, III (Ashley), Arthur David Hickman (ShyRhonda), and Gregory Marcus Brooks, Jr.; granddaughters, Aleysha Denee Bryant, and Zuri Marquisa Brooks; great grandsons, Cameron Ashton Hickman, and Alexander Arthur Hickman; great granddaughters, Zariah Ray, Arya Rose Hickman, and Penelope Belle Hickman; devoted nephew, Jimmie Lee Tisdale (Carol), Mt. Vernon, NY; grand nephews, Jimmie Lee Tisdale, and David Tisdale, both of Mt. Vernon, NY; uncles, Johnnie Neal (Lucille), St. Cloud, FL, Harry Neal (Anna), Seaside, CA, and Joseph Neal (Cora), Columbus, GA; aunts, Mamie Mickens, Tarpon Springs, FL; loyal, devoted and loving, military friends, Jack Perry (Annelle), Tucson, AZ, Charles “Chuck” Mason (Patty), Topeka, KS, Crestle Watson (Annie Lee), Oxonhill, MD, Odell Smith (Marva), Alachua, FL, and all members of The 809th Air Police Reunion Organization; and a host of cousins, and loyal and loving friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel. MASK RECOMMENDED.
