Mr. Calvin Hordge, Sr. was born in Tampa, Florida and raised in the West Tampa Community. As a young boy he attended Dunbar Elementary, and he was a Drum Major at Plant High School, 1971-72. He was a talented musician with a penchant for mechanical work. After graduating from Plant in 1972, he worked for Hillsborough County Public Schools, Moffitt Cancer Center, and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Of his many hobbies, Calvin took pride in his membership in the Golden Hawks II Motorcycle Club. He was known for his sporty, yet rugged sense of style – he could often be spotted wearing his trademark cowboy boots, cowboy hat, gold chains, and wide belt-buckle with jeans. He felt most at home riding on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle with his wife. His smile and larger than life personality will be missed by us all.
