Corporal Talesha Anne Vaughan-Buchanan

Corporal Talesha Anne Vaughan-Buchanan of Tampa, FL passed away on February 18, 2025.  Homegoing Services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, 11: 00 a.m. at New Bethel Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2914 E. North Bay St. Tampa, FL 33610 with Pastor Reginal T. Webb, Presiding.  Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.

Corporal Talesha was born in Germany but a native of Tampa, FL for 48 years. She was born to Saundra K. Lyons (Ned Lyons Jr.- Pop) and Thomas C. Vaughan Sr. (Ida Vaughan) from Gulfport, MS.  She attended Thomas Jefferson High School, graduating in the Class of 1994, also graduating from the University of South Florida.  She was employed by the Tampa Police Department for 24 years. She was a faithful member of New Bethel P.M.B Church and served as a Deaconess, as well as the Children’s Sunday School teacher.

She is preceded in death by: her poppa, Ned Lyons, Jr.; grandfather, James McDaniels Sr.; and a host of aunts and uncles.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Olivia Buchanan (her father, Steve Buchanan); mother, Saundra K. Lyons; father, Thomas C. Vaughan, Sr. (Ida Vaughan); sister, Tamika A. Vaughan; brother, Thomas C. Vaughan, Jr; brother-in-love, Kevin Ellison; niece, Tajahnek L. Randall (Jamal Smith); nephew, Travis Lewis (Maya); great-nephew, Jaxon Smith; great-niece, EllaNoire Lewis; grandmother, Myrtha Lyons; aunt, Gloria Chatman; uncles, James McDaniels (Diane), Anthony McDaniels, Michael McDaniels, Ronald Harden, Kenny Lyons, and Sherwin Harden; close friends, that became family, Glenda Register, Vanessa Rhinehart and family, and Shawn Dennis; and a host of cousins, and friends whom she loved very much. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at New Bethel Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2914 E. North Bay St. Tampa, FL 33610 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
