Cynthia Lewis Obituary

Mrs. Cynthia Annette Hardy Lewis of Tampa passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020.  Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Pastor T. D. Leonard, officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Fifteen minutes prior to service time, Please visit www.raywilliamsfuneralhome.com  for the opportunity to view service via Live Streaming.  Please follow the CDC Guidelines.  Masks are required.

 Mrs. Cynthia Annette Hardy Lewis was a native and resident of Tampa, Florida, for 74 years.  She graduated from Howard W. Blake High School, Class of 1963 and attended Gibbs Junior College and Tampa Business College.  She was a lifelong member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church and where she served many years as the church secretary and bookkeeper. 

She worked as a secretary at USF, was a flight attendant/ticket agent for Eastern Airlines for over 10 years and retired from Hillsborough County Public Schools as a Principal’s Secretary after 24 years of dedicated service. 

Cynthia was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie and Eva Hardy; and brother, Fred Hardy. 

She leaves to cherish fond memories: husband, Rufus Lewis; daughters, Carol Lewis and Candace Dean (Errol); son, Rodney Lewis (Hollie); grandchildren, Jared Lewis, Justin Burdgess (Erica), Jasmyn Dean, and Jayla Dean; adopted grandchildren, Rylan Sells, and Kayden Sells; great-grand, Julian Lewis; sisters, Sylvia Hornsby (late Nathaniel), and Sonja Hardy (John); sister-in-law, Patricia Lewis; brother-in-law, Leroy Lewis Jr.; nephews, Vincent Hardy, Rawn Hornsby (Sadie), and Alvin Burns Jr. (Sabine); great-nephew, Jaron Hornsby; nieces, Nicolla Cobb, and Samantha Romero; great-niece, Carina Hornsby; loving caregivers, Barbara Martin, Mayula Calderon, and Doretha Johnson; God-sister, Natanya Miller; dear friends, Mary James, Dorothy Coleman and a host of cousins and special friends.

The visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 2 at Ray Williams Funeral Home. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines.  Masks are required.
