Deacon Charles Edward Martin

Deacon Charles Edward Martin of Brandon, FL, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33619, with Reverend Dwayne E. Sanders, Pastor of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Mr. Martin was a native of Tampa and a resident for 75 years.  He attended Blake High School and Hillsborough Community College.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Progress Village and was employed as a Merchant Services Relationship Manager at the Bank of America.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Ronald E. Martin; daughter-in-law, Kristy Martin; beloved grandchildren, Shiloh Martin and Jace Martin; siblings, Ella Sallins (James), James Martin (Mattie), Geraldine Stevens (Robert), Johnny Floyd Martin, Anndra Martin, Bella Burroughs, and Tyrone Burroughs; godsister, Aurienta Madison (Darryl); godbrother, LaMarvin Brown (Latoya); goddaughter, Cierra Sanders; his lifelong honorary brother, Martley Buckley (Carla); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Charles's legacy of love, faith, service, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever remain a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
