Deacon Huey Lee Mungin of Tampa, FL passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, with Minister Bruce Bryant, Officiating, and Pastor Adrian Reid Sr., Eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Huey Lee Mungin was a native of Tampa, FL, and a resident of Tampa for 99 years. He attended local schools in Hillsborough County, FL, and was a member of New Hope M.B. Church. He retired as a Truck Driver for local companies.
Deacon Mungin was preceded in death by: his wife, Geraldine Collins Mungin; son, Arthur Williams; parents, Henry and Priscilla Mungin; brothers, Henry and Albert Mungin, Willie and Telfair Boyce; sister, Essie Mae Mungin; aunt, Fannie Kincade; grandson, Joel Mungin; and great-grandson, Adam T. Mastin II.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Richard H. Mungin, Linda J. Mungin, Lawrence G. Mungin, all of Tampa, FL, Leonard J. Mungin, and Albert E. Mungin (Kellie), Portland, OR; grandchildren, Eric Robinson (Krystal), Verna Mungin, Chantel Reid, Tampa, FL, Ilia Mastin (Adam), Stone Mountain, GA, Rihana Mungin-Walker (Jesse), Portland, OR, James Mungin, Canada, Katina Mungin, Lewiston, ME, Jason Mungin, Saco, ME, Timmy Lagasse, Farmington, ME, Je’Taime Mungin, Hawaii, and Samuel Mungin, New York; great-grandchildren, Javaun Harrison, Erick Robinson, Myles Robinson, Brianna Robinson, Mya Robinson all of Tampa, Serenity, Jada, Kingston, Tyrese Mungin, all of Maine, Journey of Hawaii, and Ella Rose Mastin of Stone Mountain, GA; great great grandchild, Janeya Harrison, Tampa, FL; brother-in-law, Melvin L. Collins, Tampa, FL; sister-in-law, Helen Boyce, Mobile, AL; Goddaughter, Pamela Goins, Orlando; special niece, Cheryl Mungin-Lovett (Harry), Tampa; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and the entire New Hope family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
