Deacon Oscar B. Hearns of Tampa, FL, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, 1006 W. Cypress Street, Tampa, FL 33606, with Reverend Alan Harris, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Deacon Oscar Hearns received the precious gift of life on April 24, 1943, in Bascom, Florida, to Jackie and Equilla Hearn. Mr. Hearns was a native of Florida and a resident of Tampa for 62 years.
He graduated from Union Grove High School in Jackson County, Florida. Oscar proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Longshoreman. He was a Deacon at Beulah Baptist Institutional Church.
Oscar was preceded in death by: his wife, Deaconess Minnie Pearl Hearns; his parents, Jackie and Equilla (Pollock) Hearn; his brother, Herman Hearn; brothers-in-law, Arthur Jenkins and Willie Lawson; and sister-in-law, Gloria Hearn.
Deacon Hearns leaves to cherish his memories: his sisters, Bettye Hearn, Evelyn Jenkins and Oletha Lawson; his brother, James (Maxine) Hearn; sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Williams of Tampa, Erma Jean Carter, Loretta London, Carol Martin and Josephine (Larry), all of Ft. Lauderdale and Treva (Vernon); brothers-in-law, Joseph Eggelletion Jr., Andre Eggelletion, and Shawn (Regina) Eggelletion; special friends, Judy (Charlie) Williams; caring neighbors, Julius and Family, the Green Family and Ms. Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
