Dorothy Bailey

Sister Dorothy Mae Bailey of Tampa passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020. A Graveside service will be conducted Saturday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, Florida.  Interment will follow.  Please follow the CDC guidelines. 

Sister Dorothy Mae Bailey was born in Sparta, Georgia. She retired from the Hillsborough County School System and was a faithful member of The Pentecostal Church of God for many years.  She served as the President of the Tampa Usher Board. She was an outstanding and dutiful Praying Woman.  

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Frank W. and Susie G. Bell; brother, Frank W. Bell Jr. ;(2) sisters, Naomi Jones & Barbara Bell; and daughter, Gwendolyn L. Bailey-Knight. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: (2) sons, James H. Bailey III., Westminster, MD; and Frank W. Bailey Sr., (Marcela), Tampa, FL; Step son, Bryant Snead, Tampa, FL; (2) daughters, Dorothy J. Bailey, Tampa, FL and Barbara A. Bailey-Walker, Tampa, FL; Bonus daughter, Sophia Baker-Alexander; loving sister, Julia Tyler, South Bay, FL; (1) brother, Robert L. Bell, (Sheree), Baltimore, MD; (1) uncle, John E. Barnes, Sparta, GA; (1) sister-in-law, Inez Bell, Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Teniqua Bailey, Darrisha Ray (Danny), Frank Bailey Jr., Latoyia Bailey, Alex Lewis Jr., Jermaine Bailey, Symone Matthews, Phillip Walker, III, Markita Graham (Rashad), Frankerria Bailey, Jermeleo Chestnut, and Jayden Bailey; (28) Great Grandchildren; (3) God-daughters, Darlene Allen, Yolanda Washington, and Sylvia Smith Johnson; (2) Godsons, Willie & Jesse Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives too numerous to name. Special fond memories are left with Lovett Clark Sr. and Tawan Thompson. 

The remains will repose from 3-7 p.m., Friday, June 5, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines.
