Dr. Bennie Small Jr.

Dr. Bennie Small Jr. of Tampa, FL passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.  Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Dr. Bennie Small Jr. was a native of Florida and a resident of Tampa for 80 years. He attended and graduated from Howard W. Blake and earned several degrees, including his Doctorate. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, former President of NAACP, and was a United States Veteran. He owned his own Construction Company called Small Construction Company.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Terrance Small (Lisa) of Tampa, FL and Akia Anderson of Tampa, FL; bonus kids who he was a father figure to, Shawn Wilson of Tampa, FL, and Ronald Anderson Jr. of Tampa, FL.; grandchildren, Bernard Pendleton, Dajahnai Perry, Tara Small, Ari Royal, and Aseria Royal; and great grandchildren, Brycen Pendleton, Asir Small, Jayceon Small, and Santana Pendleton of Tampa, FL.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
