A proud United States Air Force veteran and later a respected Sergeant with the Tampa Police Department, Dr. Henry served honorably for over thirteen years, primarily in the Ybor City and College Hillcommunities.
Known for his strong presence, deep compassion, and unwavering commitment to justice, Dr. Henry earned the love and respect of those he protected and uplifted. He was affectionately known as “Sweet Daddy Woo-Woo,” “Sergeant Short Dog,” and “the Mob Boss”, names that reflected both his leadership and his ability to turn chaos into calm. Through his mentorship and heart for people, he changed countless lives and helped transform Tampa’s most historic neighborhoods into places of renewed pride and community spirit.
Beyond his law enforcement service, Dr. Henry was a scholar and man of faith, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Saint Leo University, a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Saint Leo University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Walden University achieving recognition as a scholar by the University in academic excellence and original research. While achieving these amazing milestones, Dr. Henry became one of only two Black-owned mortgage lenders in the United States of America and excelled as a Real Estate Broker and Entrepreneur. As a Kingdom Warrior who lived to serve God and others, Dr. Henry gave selflessly, providing homes, scholarships, and support to those in need, quietly demonstrating his belief that faith without works is dead.
