The Homegoing Memorial Service for Elder Steven R. Carrion of Valrico, FL, who passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, 12:00 p.m. at Brown Memorial Church of God in Christ, 2313 E. 27th Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605, Bishop Anthony W. Gilyard, Pastor, Officiant/Eulogist.
Elder Steven R. Carrion was a native of Bronx, New York, born on June 23, 1953, and was the beloved husband of Dr. Iraida V. Carrion for 41 years. The Carrions made their home in Valrico, FL for the past 33 years. Elder Carrion earned a Bachelor of Arts from Central Bible College in Springfield, MO, and a Master of Arts from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA, devoting his life to ministry.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife, Dr. Iraida V. Carrion; sister Lydia C. Cerpa; sisters-in-law, Jenny Williams, Hershey Vazquez Jones (Terence), and Carmen Vazquez; nieces, Christina Henderson (Edward), Hershey Vazquez Millner, and Kameron Millner; nephews, James Cerpa and Luke Williams (Allie); the Brown Memorial church family, where he shared 28 years of fellowship and service; and a host of cousins and other friends too numerous to name.
The family will meet at the church at 11:30 am in preparation for the service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Brown Memorial Elder Steven R. and Missionary Dr. Iraida V. Carrion Scholarship Foundation.
