Elder Willie E. Ray of Valrico, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at The City of Restoration, 11311 Boyette Road, Riverview, Florida 33569 (Riverview High School main auditorium), with Apostle O’Neil Salmon, officiating. The interment will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, 11:00 a.m. in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.
Willie E. Ray was a native of Odum, Georgia and a resident of Tampa for 50 years. He attended Northside High School in Wayne County, Georgia. He was a member of The City of Restoration church. He was employed as a supervisor for the City of Tampa for 30 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Cheryl Dodd Ray; 3 sons, James Ray (Suhyun), Willie Ray, and Jason Ray; 8 grandchildren, Johanna, Immanuel, Ualani, Sydnie, Jaleel, Madison, Zora and Legend; brother, Ned Ray; sister-in-law, Lori Shannon; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
