Mrs. Eloise Smith of Tampa entered into eternal rest Monday, March 30, 2020. Due to the current restrictions from the CDC, the funeral service will be closed to the public. A Private Graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue with Reverend Gregory Gay, officiating. Interment will follow.
Mrs. Eloise Smith was a native of Florida and a resident of Tampa for 79 years. She was a graduate of Middleton High School and was a member of Mount Olive A.M.E. Church where she served in numerous ministries. She was the founder of the Feeding Ministry which bears her name. After her retirement from the Retail Clothing Industry, she devoted her time and talent to God’s church ministering to God’s people.
Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Raleigh Reche Smith; daughter, Linda Smith Young; parents, Richard and Sarah Mitchell and her siblings, Rosalee Faison and Gloria Hicks.
She leaves to cherish her memory: granddaughters, Denise (David) Okegbola and JaQuay Young; great grandsons, John G. Speights, Jr., Quindarius Okegbola and Jaylan Okegbola; siblings, Mary Vesta, Richard (Theresa) Mitchell, Phette Mitchell, Vernon (Rose) Mitchell, Cynthia (Carl) Fayson, Clara (Leroy) Russell; devoted friends, Laverne Latson, Cynthia Jacobs, and her Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many loved ones and friends.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, April 14, from 4p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to pay their respects and to follow the CDC guidelines.
