Emma Ruth Allen

Mrs. Emma Ruth Allen of West Tampa, Florida passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Tabernacle, 6912 Williams Road, Seffner, FL 33584 with Minister Lemuel Harris, Officiating.  MASKS ARE RECOMMENDED.

Mrs Emma Ruth Allen was a native of Blakely, Georgia and a resident of Tampa for 71 years. She attended and received her high school diploma from Blake High School Adult Education program. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church and was employed in the Maintenance/Services Division at the Tampa Police Department for 36 ½ years. 

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Sanford and Loretta Mosely; husband, Richard Lee Allen Sr.; two brothers, Sanford Mosely Jr., and Abraham Mosely; three sisters, Katie Brown, Bertha Mills, and Essie Mae Bryant; son, Richard Lee Allen Jr.; daughter, Emma Lee Allen; nephews, Calvin Hopkins, Alvin Hopkins, and Sammy Rivers; and niece, Loretta (Sweetie) Brown-Wilson.

She leaves to cherish her memory: sister, Irene Bussie of New Jersey; grandchildren, Richard (Richie) Allen lll, Leonard (Leon) Grice, Tamera (Tammy) Simpson, and Cecilia Allen (Cameron and Chaz); great grandchildren, Tamerick (TJ) Simpson, Madison Simpson, Jonathan Grice, Ashley Grice and Alexandria Grice; nephews, Bobby Earl Hopkins, Joel Calhoun, Marvin Mosely (Diane), and Donnie Smith; nieces, Diane Johnson (Frank), Yvonne (Wild Bill) Bryant, Marilyn Jones (Wayne), Sandra Bonds, Josephine Calhoun, and Felicia Mosely; special great niece, Tamika Bryant-Thomas (Titus); special great nephews, Eddie Wilson and Craig Bythewood; special friend/sister, Inez Russel; God children, Jamal Jefferson, and Jameshia Jefferson and a host of other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.  MASKS ARE RECOMMENDED.
