Mother Emogene Johnson of Tampa passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021. Graveside service will be conducted Saturday, February 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33610 with Reverend Willie Jones, officiating. Interment will follow. Please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required. Family has requested that family and friends please meet at the cemetery.
Mother Emogene Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida and was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County. She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of her life at an early age and was baptized by the late Elder W. E. Davis, Sr. of College Hill COGIC. Mother Johnson was a devoted member of Full Gospel Church of God in Christ where she served on the Mother’s Board. Mother Johnson loved her family and church family and will be remembered for her unwavering faith.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Timothy Calhoun and Louise Allen; daughter, Lillian Hall; and twin sister, Ernestine Lawrence.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Ms. Margie Waldron, Ms. Linda Kaye Waldron and Ms. Brenda Williams; 16 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; half sister, Mrs. Mary Louise Helms; sister, Mrs. Mary Rose Love; brother-in-law, Reverend Esleman Lawrence; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, neighbors, friends; special friends, Mother Glenn and Ms. Felicia Williams and the Full Gospel COGIC Church family.
The remains will repose from 3 – 7 p.m. on Friday, February 19, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. We are asking family and friends to please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.
