Mrs. Evora Wynn Pimento passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Allen Temple AME Church, 2101 N. Lowe Street, Tampa, Florida with Reverend Velvet R. Caldwell, officiating. Masks are required.
Mrs. Pimento was born on February 24, 1945, in Tampa. She attended Hillsborough County Public Schools and graduated from Middleton High School, Class of 1962. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Bethune-Cookman College in 1966. Her Social Worker career spanned for over 37 years at various Hillsborough County Public Schools. She retired in 2003 from Cleveland Elementary School.
She was a member of Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church and served there faithfully until her heavenly call.
She was preceded in death by her: parents, Woodrow and Sarah Wynn; grandson, Darrius Fullwood; twin sister, Flora Poitier; sister, Hazel Bozeman; brother, Woodrow Wynn, Jr.; nephew, Joseph Bozeman, Jr.; brothers- in-law, Judge George E. Edgecomb, Joseph Bozeman, Sr., Melvin Pimento and Johnny Hayes, Jr.; mother-in-law, Alma Hayes; and father-in-law, Joseph Pimento.
She leaves to cherish her memory and lives in her legacy: devoted husband of 54 years, Alvin C. Pimento, Sr.; two daughters, Angela Fullwood (Darrick) and Cherie Pimento-Bethune (Brian); stepson, Alvin Pimento, Jr. (Rhonda); nine grandchildren, Darrick Fullwood, Jr., Angelique Fullwood, Bria Davis, Amber Fullwood-Corbett, Alex Pimento, Briana Bethune, Brian Bethune, Jr. (Allicia), Brooke Bethune and Brandon Bethune; great-granddaughter, Evin Corbett; sister, Doretha Edgecomb; nieces, Gwendolyn Bates (James), Dianne Kelly (Andrew), Mildred Sturks, Sharon Poitier, Allison Edgecomb, Kimberly Poitier and Karla Jackson (Joseph); cousins, Margaret Williams (Clifton, Sr.), Albert Curry, Henrietta Bryant, Carrye Rudd, Odell Stroud, Alice Cunningham, Marvin Sevillian (Madeline) and Michelle Stewart (Ronald); brothers-in-law, Frank Poitier, Albert Pimento (Pat), Preston Hayes (Deanna), Felton Hayes (Rosharon) and Wendell Hayes; sisters-in-law, Cecelia Pimento, Jacqueline Thornton (Terry) and Wanda Torrance (Timothy); and a host of other family and friends.
No visitation will be held. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church no later than 10:15 a.m. We are following CDC guidelines; therefore, masks are required for those in attendance.
