Floria Lowe Obituary

Mrs. Floria D. Lowe of Columbus, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 10 at 10 a.m. at Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610 with Brother Luis R. Lugo, officiating.  Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.  Please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.

Mrs. Floria D. Lowe was a native of Leslie, Georgia born to Joseph Johnson and Thelma Lewis Johnson.  She lived in Tampa for 44 years before relocating to Columbus, GA for the past 10 years until God decided to call her home.

She moved to Tampa, FL in 1966 and graduated from Blake High School and decided to further her education with Hillsborough Community College where she earned an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts; Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from USF; and Master’s degree in Psychology from Springfield College.  She was a devoted substance abuse counselor and program coordinator for DACCO for over 24 years before retiring.  She was affectionately known as “Ms. Flo” to the many lives that she touched and was praised for her dedication and efforts in going above and beyond her job description to meet their needs.

She obeyed the gospel under the teachings of Minister Luis R. Lugo at Highland Avenue Church of Christ 38 years ago. She was a devoted Christian who loved the lord and was always willing to extend a helping hand to all in need.  She was a faithful member of the Box Springs Church of Christ until her health failed her.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: a devoted husband of 49 years, Minister Joe Lowe of Columbus, GA; three daughters, Monica Wilson (Kevin), Valencia Lowe Billups (Terone), and Cicely Lowe, all of Tampa; two sons, Eric Johnson and Kevin Lowe (Ashley); two sisters, Linda Bell and husband Arthur, and Lisa Johnson of Tampa, FL; one paternal uncle, Marcellus Henry and wife Dora; one brother-in-law, Robert Donaldson Sr.; devoted cousins, Mary Sims and husband Vernon, and Eddie Berryhill and wife Edna; 7 granddaughters, Kaneshia, Ieshia, Erica, Micheala, Shayla, Tyla and Ariyah; 6 grandsons, Tarel, Eric, Denzel, Keeton, Kevin, and Ja’Kareon; 4 nephews, Michael Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Daniel Johnson and Jordan Taylor; 2 nieces, Danielle Johnson and Patrice Johnson; and a host of other devoted relatives and friends.

The visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Friday, April 9 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.  We are asking family and friends to please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.
