Fred Kinsey Obituary

 A Celebration of Life for Bro. Fred L. Kinsey, who transitioned on Sunday, May 2, 2021, will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 8119 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, with Reverend Eugene Garnett, Sr., officiating.  He will be laid to rest in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.  Please follow the CDC guidelines.  Masks are required.    

Bro. Fred L. Kinsey was a native of Tampa, FL and received his early education in the Hillsborough County Public Schools, graduating from Middleton High School in 1965.    He valued education which led him to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida A. & M. University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Tampa.     

Bro. Kinsey was a devout Christian who dedicated his life to Christ at a very young age.    He was a devoted member of Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church.  He always enjoyed the sermons, the choir and fellowshipping with the body of Christ.    

Bro. Kinsey was well-known in his community and was always willing to help people who were in need of his assistance.  He remained gainfully employed throughout his lifetime with Metropolitan Insurance Company, Department of Children and Families and the School District of Hillsborough. 

Bro. Kinsey was preceded in death by his parents – Azzie and Nellie Kinsey; sister – Earlene Walters; and brothers – Norris Kinsey and Azzie Vaughn Kinsey. 

He leaves to cherish loving memories with: three sisters – Gloria K. Fordham and husband, (Walter, Jr.), Vivian K. Hill and husband, (Ralph) and Carolene K. Greenaway; one brother – Charles Kinsey (Dorothy); three nieces -  Sandra Hayes, Kutury (Tory) Kinsey, and Holly Kinsey;  eleven nephews – Norris Kinsey, Jr., Reche Kinsey, Karl Kinsey and wife, Vesta,  Anthony Kinsey and wife, Shonda, Walter Fordham, III and wife, Lynn, Kerry Fordham, Brian Fordham and wife, Tionis, Ronald Burgess and wife, Melissa, Ralph Hill, Jr. and wife, Shaletha,  Marcus Brown and Franklyn Greenaway, Jr.; great nieces –Odyssey Kinsey, Dawanna Hayes, Doris Hayes,  LeBreau Kinsey, Tyra Kinsey, Mia Kinsey, Ki’Era Kinsey, Kayla Kinsey, Kaitlyn Kinsey, Rachel Fordham, Brianna Fordham, Trinity Fordham, Taylor Fordham, Keirah Fordham, Niomi Burgess, Mariah Burgess,  Ronald Burgess, Jr., Amber Burgess, Jaden Burgess, Sianne Hill and Nyla Hill; great nephews – Javon Kinsey, Sidney Hayes, Kajuan Kinsey,  Walter Fordham IV, Ashton Fordham, Ian Fordham;  a devoted cousin, Ellen Kinsey, who enjoyed a brother/sister relationship with him, and a host of great-great nieces, great-great nephews, cousins and other mournful relatives and devoted friends. 

The viewing will be held Friday, May 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.  We are asking family and friends to please follow the CDC Guidelines.  Masks are required.
