Mr. George H. Brant, better known as “Mr. Red” of West Tampa, Florida passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610 with Reverend Prentiss Davis, Officiating.
George H. Brant was born on August 1, 1939, in Allendale SC. After completing his education, he moved to Tampa, FL, and was employed in the trucking industry. He resided in West Tampa and was known as the Mayor of LaSalle Street. He enjoyed spicy conversations with his neighbors and friends. He was a true fan of the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, often coaching from his recliner. He lived his life to the fullest with no regrets.
George was preceded in death by: his daughter, Linda Brant Burgess; parents, Mr. Aiken Brant and Mrs. Margaret Brant; and sister, Eva M. Bamberg.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his daughter, Sonia Brant; grandchildren, Briana Brant, Maurice Momprevil, Tamara Burgess, and Maya Burgess; great-grandchildren, Leah Freeman and Elija Burgess; nieces, Veverly Brant, Gloria Faust (Mark), Elizabeth Bamberg, Jeannette Bamberg, Sandra Bamberg and Cynthia Frazier; nephews, Ernest Bamberg Jr. (Anita), Ronnie Bamberg (Jeanette) and Brian McDonald; extended family, Mary Ann Adams, Gloria Meeks and Henry Pearson of Tampa, Florida; and a host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
