Gloria Smith

Ms. Gloria A. Smith was called home on Monday, September 3, 2024, passing at the age of 85. Gloria, a pillar of strength, has now entered a peaceful rest. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.

Gloria was born in Detroit Michigan on May 24, 1939. Gloria graduated from Northwestern High School, in Detroit, MI. She began her career and family there, later moving to Tampa FL. where she resided until death. She lived a tremendous passion and willingness to help others in need.

She was preceded in death by: her mother, Inez Griffin; father, Ulysses Griffin; God sister, Brenda Livingston; and Goddaughter, LeShone Livingston.

She leaves to cherish her memories behind with: her significant other of 40 years, Juedy Gillette; daughter, Theresa Griffin; sons, Dwayne Griffin, Darrel Griffin, and James Smith; and sister, Veatrice Griffin; 13 grands; 17 great-grands; 10 great-great-grands; close friends, Mathalnen Pierson, Vantella Hall, Ruby Shannon, and Alishia Crawley; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, all other family and friends.
