Deacon Herbert D. Williams of Tampa passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021. Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Reverend Orian A. Flournoy, officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.
Deacon Herbert D. Williams was a native of Thomasville, Georgia and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Progress Village where he served as a Deacon for over 50 years. He also was a member of the Male Chorus. Deacon Williams retired from Florida Steel after 38 years of dedicated service.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Flossie and Lebbie Williams; his loving wife of 54 years, Carrie Williams; son, Jonathan Fountain, Jr.; three brothers, Mr. Henry T. Williams, Mr. Richard Williams and Mr. Lebbie Williams, Jr.; and one sister, Geneva McClellan.
He leaves to cherish his memories and legacy of love: granddaughter, Lakisha Fountain; great granddaughter, Kaylani Kaydence Fountain; daughter-in-law, Loleta Fountain; Goddaughters, Loretta Johnson and Felicia Green; friend, Annie Blatch; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, extended family and friends.
