Mr. Herbert L. Williams of Valrico, Florida, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke AME Church, 2709 N. 25th St., Tampa, Florida 33605, with Rev. Kirk R. Bogen, officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, Florida 33513.
Mr. Williams was a native of Tampa and he maintained residency in Hillsborough County although he traveled to numerous states and other countries during his lifetime. He attended Hillsborough County Public Schools and later matriculated at St. Leo University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology. Mr. Williams was a faithful member of St. Luke AME Church all his life where he served in numerous capacities both as a child and adult. At the time of his passing, he was actively serving on the Board of Stewards. He proudly served in the United States Army for 22 years and retired honorably with distinction as a Master Sergeant. Later, he became employed as a Hillsborough County Sheriff Deputy for 18 years and retired as a Sergeant.
He leaves to cherish his memory and legacy, a faithful, loving and devoted wife, Isabell Glenn Davis - Williams; children, Debra Williams, Naranja Davis (Fernando), Will Joe Davis; grandchildren, Hannah Madison Davis, and Alexandria Mariah Cooper; siblings, Barbara J. Riley and Leola W. Cole; nieces, Elaine Pope, Gloria Washington, Brenda Williams, Barbara Jackson (Garfield), Sherry Scarborough, Lisa Cole, Hope Scarborough and Suezette Williams; nephews, Reverend Dr. Richard Spearman, Jr. (Linda), Michael James, Daryle Cole and Mark Williams; Goddaughters, Breanna Smith and Alexandria Frazier; two brothers-in-law Lindsey Glenn and Joseph Abrams (Gwen); two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Jones and Pernell Goodman; a special cousin, Dorothy Williams along with a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
