Ms. Hermina Gonzalez, affectionately known as “Minnie” of Gibsonton, Florida passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Saturday, May 1 at 2 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Bishop Robert L. Register, officiating. Ms. Herminia Gonzalez was a native of Brooklyn, New York, and a resident of the Tampa Bay Area for seven years. She was born to Arlene Negron and Tomas Gonzalez and was educated in the public schools of Brooklyn, New York, where she was a graduated of Grover Cleveland High School.
Herminia worked at Coney Island Community Daycare which eventually led her to her passion to open her own home childcare center, Minnie’s Mini’s. Herminia relocated to the Tampa Bay Area in June of 2013.
Herminia was baptized and received Christ as her personal savior in 1996. She united with New Life Christian Fellowship Church under the pastorage of Bishop Robert L. Register, where she served on the Usher and Hospitality Ministries. She also served as the leader of the Young Adults Ministry. Minnie was a charismatic worshiper, and you could always find her singing, dancing and praising the Lord.
Minnie will always be remembered for her love for people, her caring and sharing nature, her fun-loving joyous spirit, and her passion for music. She always had a beautiful welcoming an infectious smile and she was a mother figure and daughter to many.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Tomas Gonzalez; and brother, Wilfred (Cookie).
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Shaena Cruz; mother, Arlene Negron; sisters, Loretta Negron and Audrey Negron; brothers, Danny Negron and Jeffery Negron; beloved best friends for life, Yevette Rolon and Miguel Ortiz; special friends, Tanisha Warren, and Yulonda Smith; special nieces, Destiny Negron, Jessica Nieves and Diana Vargas; special nephews, Jared Lewis and Caesar Lewis; and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, God-children, stepchildren, friends, and her New Life Christian Fellowship Church family. We are asking family and friends to please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.
