Mr. Johnnie Moore, Jr. passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020. A Graveside service will be held on June 6, at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue with Pastor Eric Campbell, officiating. Interment will follow. Please follow the CDC guidelines.
Mr. Johnnie Moore, Jr. was a native of Indianola, Mississippi, born to the union of Mr. Johnnie and Moeal Moore. He was educated in Sunflower County, MS and in Hillsborough County, Tampa, FL.
Mr. Moore moved to Tampa over 64 years ago and was a dedicated leading employee and then supervisor for 30 years at Florida Precast Concrete. Johnnie was an expert general contractor; he could build a home from scratch. He was an avid family man, fisherman, and the one that his family could look up to as a shining example of hard work, fatherhood, and strength.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Leonard; siblings, Willie Moore, Mable Ball, Robert Moore, Louella Taylor, and Shirley Moore.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: his beautiful wife of 51 years, Mrs. Christine Moore; children, Archie Moore, Jerold Moore, Horace Walker Jr. (Wanda), Anthony Moore, Tangela (Tonya), Johnnie Moore III, Anthony Walker, Melissa Moore (Kelvin), Antwon Johnnie Moore Jr., and Robert Taylor (Galloway); adoring grandchildren, Mauricica, Terica (Erica), Zachery, Ibrihim, Ashley, Aaron, Erica, Sharde, Jerold Jr., Bianca, Geaira, Jerkeema, Twanique, Jerrell, Anquetta, Anquinette, Andricka, Anthony Jr., Antonio, Johnnie IV, Ashley (Neight), Horace III, Christopher, Juwan, Jazmine, Shakilla, Maddison, Leonard Jr. and Darryl Jr. (LEO); siblings, Daniel “Pete” (Earlene) Moore, Sallie LeCount, Lena (Carl) Regis, Bobbie Moore, Jackie (Lisa) Moore, Albert Moore, Mary (Gerald) Moore, and Brenda (Horace) Donald; sisters-in-law, Elease Moore, Pecola George, Betty Williams, Vivian Jenkins (Ernest) and Patricia Jenkins; brothers-in-law, Tommy Jenkins (Rosalyn) and Lorenzo Jenkins (Deidra); cousin, Cleveland Thomas; and a host of sorrowing great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members and friends which includes, his God-sister, Thelma Peterson &family; and neighbors, Jimmy and Linda.
The remains will repose from 3-7pm, Friday, June 5, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines.
