Joseph Chappell

Mr. Joseph “Joe” Chappell of Tampa, FL passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL with Reverend James Anderson, officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.   Please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.      

Mr. Joseph Chappell affectionately known as “Joe” was a native of Brierfield, Alabama and a resident of Tampa for 40 years.  He was educated in the public schools of Bibb County, Alabama where he last attended Bibb County Training School.  He graduated from public school in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.  He retired as a Truck Driver for Waste Management where he had the opportunity to train close friends prior to his retirement.  Mr. Chappell accepted Christ as His personal savoir as a child and was a member of Wayman Chapel A. M. E. Church.  He later joined New Fellowship Baptist Church.  Mr. Chappell enjoyed singing and dancing and he will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Mr. Page and Ms. Betty Chappell-Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Jacqueline Heard of Flint, Michigan; brother, George Page of Ocala, FL; cousins, James “Bo” Chappell and Benny Chappell (Althea); longtime friend and caregiver, Bertha Russell; close friends and co-workers, Joseph Mingo Jr., Odell Mingo, Willie Mingo and Bertan Sampson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The remains will repose from 4 – 7 p.m. Friday, April 2 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. We are asking family and friends to please follow the CDC Guidelines.  Masks are required.
