Josephine Royal Obituary

Mrs. Josephine Royal of Tampa, Florida passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Blvd., Tampa, FL 33619 with Dr. Sam Maxwell, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Mrs. Josephine Royal was born December 7, 1929, to the parentage of Mr. Amos Scott and Christine Scott.  She was raised and nurtured in a Christian home in Tampa, Florida.  She attended schools in the Hillsborough County Public School System and graduated from Middleton High School, "Class of 1948".  She was employed as a homemaker for several years and retired in 1981.

Mrs. Josephine Royal was a longtime member of The First Baptist Church of Progress Village since the early 60’s under the Pastorate of founding Pastor, Rev. B. T. Williams, later Rev. Roosevelt Robinson, Jr.  and current Senior Teaching Pastor, Dr. Sam Maxwell.  She served on the Usher Board #1 and the Food Bank Ministry. She also enjoyed spending time with the Sistahs of the Tampa Chapter of The Red Hat Society.

Mrs. Josephine Royal was married to Frank Royal for thirty years.  To this union, three children were born.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank and son, Robert J. Royal. 

She leaves to cherish loving memories with two daughters: Shirley Everett (Johnny Richardson) and Mary a.k.a Tammy (Nathan) Best Jr.; grandchildren, Clyde Everett Jr. (Linda), Tareyton Everett (Daniel McNab), Shirmeka Everett, and Jermaine Everett; great grandchildren, Tajah(Justin) Jackson, Zeryus Everett, Tyran Smith, Jaylen Everett, Jermaine Everett Jr., Jakobe Everett, and Taraji Volcy; great great grandchildren, Jenesis Jackson, Bobby Jackson, Justin Jackson II and Bryson Jackson, one sister; Cora Archie,  two brothers; John Henry Scott (Voncile) and Bernard Scott(Anita),  three sister in laws; Rose Scott, Mattie Bell Royal and Valmarie Royal, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

The visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.  MASK RECOMMENDED.
