Mother Julia Mae Morris of Tampa passed away Friday, November 20, 2020. Homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, December 5, at 1:00 p.m. at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, 2101 N. Lowe Street, Rev. Dr. Glenn B. Dames, Senior Pastor with Bishop Willie L. Morris Jr. of True Vine True Love Ministries, officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, December 7 at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513 at 11:00 a.m. Fifteen minutes prior to service time, Please visit Allen Temple A.M.E. Julia Mae Morris was born to Edward and Bernetha Williams in Greenville, Madison County, FL. Julia graduated from Mays Junior Senior High School in Miami, FL then earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Miami Dade Junior College. She was also a self-taught seamstress who made clothing for her children without the use of any patterns.
Julia married Willie Lee Morris Jr. and to this union four sons were born. Julia was baptized in Miami, FL where she began her lifelong journey of serving God through her passion for loving people. Julia served in ministry at an early age then later became a Mother of Mountain Top Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Simpson. She also served as Mother of Higher Calling Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Darion Jones before undertaking her final assignment as Founding Mother of True Vine True Love Ministries beside her husband.
Mother Morris is preceded in death by: her parents, Edward and Bernetha Williams; brother, Cedric Williams; brother-in-law, Minister Willie Burton; and niece, Tequila Lightbourne.
She leaves to cherish her legacy: husband, Bishop Willie Morris Jr.; 4 sons, Pastor Willie Morris (Chimere), Pastor Andre Morris (Twanda), Derrick (Jessica), and Demetrius (Angelina); 4 siblings, Annie Pasty Washington, Elder Barbara Williams, Mother Lorine Burton, and Eddie Williams (Marian); 16 grandchildren, Jordan, Jaiden, Amareon, Zion, Analisia, Alexis, Andre, Erriyon, Trey, Persia, Emilia, Zaire, Destiny (Justin), Ashton, Desmond, and Demetrius; great grandchild, Kaiden Morris; the Raines Family, her prayer warrior Mothers, plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her beloved True Vine True Love family.
The visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Friday, December 4, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines.
