Kerin Hewitt Obituary

Kerin Eileen Hewitt, age 59, died peacefully at Advent Health Hospital in Tampa, Florida, in the early morning hours of August 6, 2020.   Kerin was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida on April 26, 1961.  She grew up in Tampa, Florida, attended Chamberlain High School, and spent her entire life in the Tampa Bay area.

For most of her life, Kerin worked in the customer service industry, and spent the majority of her career as a customer service and e-commerce representative with the Home Shopping Network (now HSN), a job through which she developed many lifelong friendships that lasted long after she had retired.

Kerin lived life to the fullest through spending her time doing the things she loved the most. She rescued Chihuahuas, volunteered with Hands of Hope - Sickle Cell Awareness Foundation, loved all animals, was an outstanding cook, and most of all, she was a genuine, kind and loving friend who valued each and every person in her life.  She cared about everyone and had great empathy for anyone who was suffering.

She was preceded in death by her beloved cousin, Dr. Frederick Reddy, whom she absolutely adored; her biological father, A. Mobley; her foster mother, Barbara Schaffer, and her adopted parents, Dr. John and Ven Da Rae Hewitt.

She is survived by her cousin (in-law), Maisie Reddy (Mrs. Dr. Frederick Reddy); Dr. and Mrs. Reddy’s children, Kenya Reddy and Frederick Reddy, Jr.; half-sister Alison Hewitt; brother, John Hewitt; her biological mother, Martha Nieves; aunts, Vivian Nieves-Ross and Rev. Emma Bibeau; foster sisters, Annessa Mortensen-Stennett and Melissa Stanton; foster brother-in-laws Mark Stennett and Dave Greene; and foster cousin, Terry Ryan. She is also survived by a great number of close personal friends who loved Kerin with all of their hearts.

She will be remembered by the love and kindness she shared with all who knew her.
