Brother Leon Dixon of Thonotosassa, FL passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020. There will be a Private Memorial Service by invitation only on Saturday, May 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL. Due to the current restrictions from the CDC the Memorial Service will be closed to the public. There will be no public viewing. Brother Leon Dixon was a native of Tampa, Florida, born to the late Thelma Smith and Edward Dixon, Sr. He attended Chamberlain High School and was a member of Brown Memorial Church of God in Christ for 10 years serving faithfully as a Deacon until his physical health would not allow.
Brother Leon Dixon was married to Mother Darlene Dixon for fifteen years. In his early years he worked in construction, but his forever passion was fishing. Brother Dixon also loved family gatherings and traveling which he and Mother Dixon did frequently.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife, Mother Darlene Dixon; four stepchildren, Schrice Blackman, Anthony (Samaiya) Blackman, Antyonette Blackman (Kelly Hodge), and Keva (Fernando) Brown; sixteen grandchildren, Kylan (Kaytrese) Blackman, Kianna Blackman, Keonna Richardson, Antranesha Blackman, Zanaiya Ash, Taniya Blackman, Elijah Ketchup Jr., Vincent Ketchup, Iesha Blackman, Izaiah Ketchup, Anthony Blackman III, Breyon Hodge, Justin Brown, Za’Vion Ward, Sa’Kai Blackman, and Aminat Blackman; three great-grandchildren, Melanie Blackman, Knature Blackman, and Kylan Blackman, Jr.; six siblings, Edward (Catherina) Dixon, Jr., Lex (Yvonne) Dixon, Dorothy (Ronald) Presley, Andre (Cheryl) Dixon, Cleodell (Freddy Bushley) Dixon and Edward (Lucrecia) Dixon; and brothers-in-law, Gregory Blaylock, Michael (Patricia) Blaylock, Gary Blaylock, Alton (Sheila) Blaylock, and Benjamin Blaylock; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Faye Blaylock, Wanda Kay (Norman) Reid, Margo Stephens, and Carla Blaylock; a special niece, Debra Dixon; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children, God Grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
