Ms. Lillie Ruth Wester of Tampa passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Minister Curtis Ponder, officiating.
Ms. Lillie Ruth Wester was a native of Havana, Florida and was educated in the public schools of Gadsden County. She was a resident of Tampa for 55 years and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Ms. Wester retired from Singleton Seafood Company after many years of dedicated service.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, mother, Zeretha Fairchild; father, Sampson Wester; brothers, Clyde Griffith and Cemolia Wester; and sister, Laura Naomi Whitfield.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children, sons, Lynn Green, and Roderick Green; granddaughter, Ashley Nichole Green; great grandson, Fernando Alex Mercado; nephews, Glen Wester and wife Cheryle, Reginald Wester, and Lindsey Jackson and wife Bok Sun; and a host of caring great nieces and nephews, other sorrowing relatives and friends.
The visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa Florida 33606. Visitation hours have been extended and we are asking family and friends to pay their respects and to follow the CDC guidelines limiting gatherings of no more than 50 people.
