Marion Mosley Obituary

Marion Elizabeth Mosley, who loved to be called “Momma” by her kids, departed her loving family on Friday, September 22, 2023. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at No Greater Love Baptist Church, 3015 S. 75th Street, Tampa, FL 33619 with Pastor Felix E. Walters of El-Shaddai Baptist Church in Seffner, FL, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Marion Elizabeth Mosley was born in Tampa, Florida on September 5,1944 to the late Charles and Mandy Williams. Marion was mother to Loretta, Theartis, Laverne (Helen), Felix, Micheal, and Chanda. She raised her children with love and devotion in Seffner, Florida with her husband the late Clem Mosley.

Marion attended the public schools of Hillsborough County where she graduated from Middleton High School. After high school, Marion worked many years in Home Health Care as a CNA. Marion most enjoyment was being a wife and a mother to her six children. Marion loved her family; being an only child, Marion especially loved the Levy family as her brothers and sisters.

Marion confessed her life to Christ Jesus at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Robert C. Henry at Israel Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Seffner, Florida.

Marion was preceded in death by: her husband Clem Mosley; father, Charles Williams; mother, Mandy Williams; four grandsons, Garrett Lee Johns, Felix E. Walters Jr., Jakeem J. Johnson, and Hezekiah Ben Walters; and her son-in-law, Joseph Leggett. 

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her six loving children, Loretta (Sam) Chisolm, Theartis N. Walters, Helen Laverne (Nathaniel) Johnson, Pastor Felix (Cartenia) Walters, Michael (Pat) Walters, and Chanda D. Leggett; thirty-one grandchildren; forty-six great grandchildren; three grand puppies, Lil Wayne, King, and Herschel; aunt, Earnestine Harris, the Levy’s, Mosley’s, William’s, Walter’s, McDaniel’s, and the Council’s; special best friends, Minnie Golden and Ethelee Henry; and a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at No Greater Love Baptist Church, 3015 S. 75th Street, Tampa, FL 33619.
