Mark Blocker

Mr. Mark Blocker of Tampa passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. at 29th Street Church of Christ, 3310 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL 33605 with Brother Perry Johnson, officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.    Mr. Mark Blocker was a native of Tampa, Florida born to Gwendolyn Blocker.   He was a lifelong resident and was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was employed with the City of Tampa, Solid Waste Department. Mark was a member of the 29th Street Church of Christ.  He was preceded in death by: his uncle, Darnell Blocker; aunts, Betty Blocker, Dorothy Blocker, and Delores Nadd; and niece, Lakeah Mona Dixon.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving mother, Gwendolyn Blocker; a caring mother-in-law, Evelyn Juanita McCloud; a loving and devoted wife, Joy Blocker; his loving daughters, Rosalind Hicks, Simone McCloud, Mia Blocker, and Jaude Cuszens; his loving sons, Marcus Hicks, Matthews Hicks, and Ian Coleman; his siblings, Reginald Blocker, Gregory Blocker (Margie), Kevin Palmer, and Carol Palmer; his grandchildren, Keviyanna Ross, Alisha Ross, Ke’vin Ross, Savannah Troutman, Xiya Troutman, Zoei Troutman, Karahn Troutman, Marcus Hicks, Marvin Hicks, Paris Grant, Xavier Hicks, Khyliegh Hicks, Malaysia Hicks, Matthew Hicks, Jr., and Lauriel Sky Frederick; loving aunts, Cynthia Bryant and Clydell Marshall; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-laws and caring family friends, Rhonda Hollis, Fannie Hicks and Pearl Short.

The visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33606.  Visitation hours have been extended and we are asking family and friends to pay their respects and to follow the CDC guidelines limiting gatherings of no more than 50 people.
