Mrs. Mary F. Peterson of Tampa, FL passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Pastor Cleveland Lane, officiating. (MASKS ARE REQUIRED).
Mrs. Peterson was a native of Savannah, GA and a resident of Tampa for 61 years. She attended Beach High School in Savannah and was a member of First M.B. Church of Highland Pines in Tampa. She was employed as a Production Worker at Singleton Shrimp Company for 17 years.
Mrs. Peterson was called “Francis” by many and was loved by all. She loved the Lord and loved going to Church to Praise the Lord. When she was in good health, she would go to the nursing homes to hold devotion, sing hymns and pray with the residents. Anywhere the church went--she was right there. Mrs. Peterson loved serving God and people. She also loved to cook. She made the best coconut cake and fried chicken in the world.
Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Peterson, Jr.; mother, Olatha Herrera; father, Willie E. Everett; brothers, James E. Johnson and Lawrence Hypolitus, all of Savannah, GA, son, Anthony Peterson and daughter, Iva Peterson, both of Tampa, FL.
Mrs. Peterson leaves to cherish fond memories, sons, Clarence Peterson III and Coell Peterson (Carla) of Tampa, FL; daughter, Shirley Wentworth of Tampa, FL; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Rochelle Herrera of New York; brother, Marcell Herrera of New York; four aunts and one uncle, all of Savannah, GA.
