Mr. Matthias Mathurin of Tampa passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 16th at 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Reverend Bartholomew Banks, officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery. Please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.
Mr. Matthias Mathurin was a native of St. Lucia, U.S. Virgin Islands and a resident of Tampa for many years. He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and retired as a Maintenance Supervisor from the City of Tampa Housing Authority.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 35 years, Joyce Mathurin; his devoted children, Robert Mathurin (Nidia), Alexander Young (Carolyn), Theresa Robinson, Craig Robinson, and Cynthia Brown (Robert); 21 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; siblings, John Mathurin, Mary Henry, Albina Charlemagne, Shila Mathurin, Julietta Mathurin, Paula Mathurin, Elizabeth Mathurin, and Ursula Mathurin; sister-in-law, Lois Young, Retha Brown, Christine Young, Lillie Young, and Ann Young; brother-in-law, Charlie Young; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other sorrowing relatives and friends.
The visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Friday, January 15 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
