Mother Alice Street Williams-Brown

Mother Alice S. Williams-Brown, age 81, of Tampa, Florida, peacefully left this world for Glory on Monday, August 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Exciting Faith Alive Church, 5705 E. 32nd Avenue, Tampa, FL 33619, with Dr. Antonio R. Hawkins, Officiating, Senior Pastor, Officiating.

Born on April 7, 1945, in Clayton, Alabama, she devoted her life to family, faith, and kindness. She lived in Tampa for most of her life, where she graduated from Blake High School and was a proud member of the JROTC program. She earned her associate’s degree and made a career in retail management.

Mother Williams was an avid reader, writer, and puzzler; she enjoyed time at the casino; she loved tending to plants and flowers; she was a devoted member of her church community at Exciting Faith Alive, and she spent as much time at her grandchildren’s games and events as she could, where she would say, “Come on, Baby!” She will certainly be missed.

Mother Alice Street Williams was the niece of Rev. Moses Anglin, who was the pastor and founder of New Mount Silla Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her uncle dearly and was a supportive member of his ministry until his demise. Rev. Anglin passed the torch to Pastor Antonio R. Hawkins, in which Mother Williams decided to honor her uncle’s legacy by following and supporting Pastor Hawkins as he became the next pastor of New Mount Silla M.B. Church. She was a cherished founding member of Exciting Faith Alive Church (22 years), faithfully serving under the leadership of her beloved pastor, Pastor Antonio R. Hawkins, whom she loved dearly as a son.

After many years of dedicated service and fellowship, she was appointed to the Mother’s Board in 2017, where she continued to serve with grace, wisdom, and devotion.  Mother Williams was known for sharing words of wisdom and encouragement with youth and young adults, serving in various capacities, faithfully attending weekly services, and actively participating in the Senior Ministry. Her loving spirit, faithful presence, and unwavering commitment to the ministry will be deeply missed, but her beautiful legacy of faith, service, and love will forever remain a treasured part of Exciting Faith Alive Church. 

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Minnie Sims, Davis Anglin, and Bennie James Baxter; her sons, Herbert Lee Williams, Jr. and Demarcus Williams; her sister, Eva Baxter; her sisters-in-law, Joyce Williams, Helena Barrington, and Rhudine Sampson; her brother, Willie James Thomas; her mothers and father-in law, Lucille Lott, Harriett Brown and Rev. L.B. Brown; her niece, Vandolyn Kenon; her nephew, Cedric Mills; and her granddaughter, Antonae Johnson.

She is survived by: her husband, Arthur Ray Brown, Sr.; her sisters, Erma Jackson, Minnie Monroe, Brenda Anglin, Maryanne Anglin, and Bonnie Barber; her brother, Alonso Anglin; her devoted children, Delron Williams, Edric Brown, Sr., Alyce Brown (Rene), Arteis Brown (Quanda), LaKesha Baxter, Michelle Johnson, Antoinette Foggo, Anthony Brown, Sr., Arthur Ray Brown, Jr., Alton Brown, Angela McNeal (Alex), and Michelle Jones; her wonderful grandchildren, Edric Brown, Jr., Calvin Mann, Jr. (Alyssa), Damon Stephens, Jr. (Chyna), Charles Stephens (Leyona), Da’Monyea Stephens, Tsedae Brown, Arteis Brown, Jr., Eric, Vanessa, Dixy, Tiyanna, Jaila, Cheniyah, AJ, Jakyla, Emmanuel, Edriona, James, Edria, Eariel (Michael, Sr.), Jessica, Jade, Brandi, Deja, Nathaniel, Michael, Bryan, Delicia (DeVonta, Sr.), Anthony, Jr., Antonio, Mekala, Alexis (Rello), Kayla, Jamareon, Zyaire, and Harmony; her beloved great-grandchildren, Cedric, Million, Cash, Chanz, Cataleya, Char’Lee, Klarity, Kymiere, Natalie, Eric, Jr., E’Nyla, Rylei, Michael, Jr., Malaysia, Melea, Malavia, Jada, A’Mari, Cy’eir, DeVonta, Jr., Mi’ell, Ki’ell, Ry’ell, Morgan, and Zariyaah; her aunt, Willean Anglin; her uncle, Robert Shine; a host of nieces and nephews, Markeis (Corvette), Tate, Damien, Harriett (Rick), Ronesha, Shaheed, Clarissa, Shawn, Willy James Thomas, Jr., John IV, James, JaMesha (Reginald, Sr.), Quinshetta, Keyetta, VonDerricka, and Mary; her devoted family, Dianne Hart-Lowman, Hattie Bowers, Tonya Thomas, Pastor Antonio R. and First Lady April Hawkins, Michelle Sessions, Regan Glover, DeAle, Cheena, Kirk, Ashley, Bre, and Kida; her Godchildren, Rick, Rhonda, JJ, Tawanda, Veda, Kim, Crystal, Teresa, Mashanda, Pamela and Adrian; her cousins, Rebecca (Johnny), Joy, Brandy, Johnny, Jr., Myron, Carlton, and Jackie; her sisters-in-law, Marva and Netta; her brothers-in-law, Robert, Monroe, Jr., Vernon, Jimmy, and Wille; as well as her sisters and brothers in Christ, who will miss her dearly; she also leaves her precious Godchildren, Tameka, Tasha, Linda and Ebony. Mother Alice Williams leaves a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends too numerous to name.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Tribute of Life Service from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Exciting Faith Alive Church, 5705 E. 32nd Avenue, Tampa, FL 33619.
