Mother Mildred Elizabeth Johnson-Grant of Tampa, FL, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother serving as the matriarch of five generations, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, peacefully in her home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Life in Christ Community Church, 9706 N. 26th Street, Tampa, FL 33612, with Pastor Marques Gundy, Eulogist . She was born in Fernandina Beach, Florida, on November 15, 1939, to Clarence Clancy and Cora Lee Robinson.  Mildred was married to Paul Grant for sixty-four years.  From their union, they had six children.

Mildred, the matriarch of a large family, possessed exceptional money management skills that she used daily. She was also a talented seamstress, a professional floral designer, and a small business owner.

She was a dedicated member of Life in Christ Community Ministries, serving under Pastor Arthur Lee Randall. Her contributions included serving on the Adult Choir, as Head Usher, Church Treasurer, Trustee, Head Deaconess, and as a mother of the church until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Clancy and Cora Lee Robinson; husband, Paul Grant; and four sons, Paul Grant, Tyrone Grant, Carl Grant and Larry Grant.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Grant-Walker and Linda Randall (Arthur); her brother, Leonard Robinson (fiancée Trina); and her sisters-in-law, Virginia Grant and Justina Grant. She had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a very special cousin, Anthony Hall.  She also had very close friends, Deacon Fred Gray “Lil Bro” and Deaconess Vivian Gray “Lil Sis,” as well as a multitude of friends who became family.

She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose kindness and warmth touched everyone she encountered. Her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her. As reflected in her most cherished scripture, Psalm 91, she is now safe in His arms.
