Mr. Albert Lee Sr. Obituary

Mr. Albert Lee Sr. passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL 33610, Dr. S. Evans Burrows, Senior Pastor. The interment will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.

Albert Lee Sr. was born on February 12, 1937, in Leesburg, Georgia to parents Charlie and Mamie Lue Lee. Albert was raised by his grandparents, Peter and Rebecca Walls. Albert moved to Tift County, Georgia after Junior High School. He attended Tift County Industrial High School, where he participated as a starting football team member and an avid Glee Club member. 

High School is where he met the love of his life, Fannie Mae Bailey. Shortly after graduating High School, Albert moved to Tampa, FL., where he and Fannie were reunited a few years after her graduation and her move to Tampa, FL.

Albert and Fannie Mae were married in Tampa, FL on December 8, 1962, by his uncle, Rev. Edmund Patton. From their union, they had 5 children, Yolanda Renea Lee, Albert Lee, Jr. (Pamela), Michael DeUndre Lee (deceased), Sonja Michelle McAllister, and Arlita Semon Lee. 

Albert joined First Baptist Church of College Hill in the late 1950s, and in 1976, was ordained as a Deacon by Rev. W.H. Gordon. He remained active within the church until he could no longer serve and became Deacon Emeritus. Albert loved God and his Church. 

Albert was a Life Member of VFW Post 10140, where he served on the Memorial Committee. He also served as an Advisory Board Member of the Railroad Industrial Credit Union, and a past member of the United Cement Lime and Gypsum Workers International Union.

He was preceded in death by: his youngest son, Michael DeUndre Lee; parents, Charlie and Mamie Lue Lee; grandparents, Peter and Rebecca Walls; son-in-law, John McAllister; 4 sisters; and 4 brothers.

Albert has one surviving sibling, his sister, Margaret Lee of St Petersburg, FL.; nieces and nephews, Phyllis Garret (Rev. Adam), Annie Lou Tucker all of St. Petersburg, FL, Perryanne Caldwell Ford (Darren), Kwamina Caldwell, Michael Caldwell (Vickie) all of New York, Kevin Caldwell of North Carolina, Ben Lee, Jr., Michael Lee of Georgia, Gloria Jean Redding of Clearwater, FL, Tanjula Lee Tarver, and Vanessa Lee of Florida; sister-in-law, Tangela Lee of Albany, GA.; In-laws, Minnie Smith, Jessie Bailey, Jr., Marvene Patrick (Homer, Jr.), and Carlton Bailey (Barbara); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
