Mr. Alfred Eugene Bawlson

Mr. Alfred Eugene Bawlson, age 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at home, surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2504 Chipco Street, Tampa, FL 33605. Interment will follow on Monday, August 4, 2025, in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.

Alfred Eugene Bawlson was born in Macon, Georgia, and raised in Gray, Georgia. Alfred was a long-time member of St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church of Tampa, FL. He was raised in Gray, Georgia, and was a Deacon at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. Alfred was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, loyal son, brother, uncle, and friend.

He is preceded in death by: his mother, Mamie Lee Bawlson-Boston (Frank D Boston); and his father, Arthur Shepard (Minnie Ruth Shepard).

He is survived by: his wife, Annie Carolyn Bawlson, of 50 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories with their blended family. Alfred was a dedicated father to his four sons, Jeffrey Bawlson, Sr. (Lorraine Bawlson), Elton Powell, Sr. (Michelle Powell), Quentin Powell, Sr. (Audra Owens-Powell), Lleyweldone Powell, Sr. (Sandra Richardson-Powell). Alfred will be deeply missed by his wife, his four sons and their families, his siblings, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kind heart and warm smile will be forever remembered.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 01, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
