Mr. Alvin Kent Simons

Alvin Kent Simons, a lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the age of 56. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Bishop Darren C. Jones, Officiating.

Alvin was born on June 11, 1970, and spent his life in the community he proudly called home.

Alvin attended Gaither High School and later earned his GED in 1989 through the Gainesville Job Corps. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication, having spent many years in the lawn care industry. Whether on the job or helping others, Alvin believed in working hard and doing his best.

From an early age, Alvin had a passion for sports and athletics. During his youth, he participated in football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and gymnastics. He also enjoyed dancing and was known for his fun-loving spirit. As an adult, Alvin continued to stay active by playing racquetball and tennis with his twin brother, Marvin. He was also a devoted Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan who faithfully supported his hometown team.

Alvin will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of sports, and the relationships he cherished with family and friends. His presence brought joy to many, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Alvin leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mother, Florine Johnson; his brothers, Hasante Rashad and his twin brother, Marvin Simons; his aunt, Jackie Stephen; his uncles, Wilton Simons, Trent Everett, and Derrick Everett; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

Though Alvin's journey on earth has ended, his legacy of perseverance, laughter, and love will continue through those whose lives he touched.

Forever loved, forever remembered, forever missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
