RETIRED MASTER SERGEANT BOBBY GENE GADSON PASSED AWAY ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8,2022. A HOMEGOING CELEBRATION WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2022, 11:00 A.M. AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF WEST TAMPA, 1302 N. WILLOW AVENUE, TAMPA, FL 33607, WITH REV.CARL GADSON, OFFICIATING. INTERMENT WILL BE HELD MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2022, 11:30 A.M. IN FLORIDA NATIONAL CEMETERY, 6502 SW 102ND AVENUE, BUSHNELL, FL 33513.  MASK RECOMMENDED.

 

MR. GADSON WAS BORN MARCH 15, 1948, IN COLQUITT, GEORGIA TO JOHN L. AND AVELLA MILLER GADSON. HE ACCEPTED CHRIST AT AN EARLY AGE AT SPRINGFIELD M.B. CHURCH IN COLQUITT. AFTER GRADUATING FROM HOWARD W. BLAKE HIGH SCHOOL, HE JOINED THE U.S. ARMY. HE

SERVED HIS COUNTRY FAITHFULLY IN GRANADA, VIETNAM, GERMANY, AND KOREA AND WAS A MASTER PARATROOPER/AIRBORNE RANGER AND RECEIVEDTHE PURPLE HEART IN

VIETNAM. AFTER 20 PLUS YEARS, HE RECEIVED AN HONORABLE DISCHARGE AND ACCEPTED A POSITION AT LOCKHEED MARTIN IN CALIFORNIA BEFORE COMING BACK TO TAMPA TO

SETTLE DOWN. THE TAMPA BAY BUCS AND THE RAYS WERE HIS FAVORITE TEAMS AND HE WAS A 32ND DEGREE MASTER MASON THAT ENJOYED LISTENING TO OLD SCHOOL MUSIC.

 

HE WAS PRECEDED IN HEAVEN BY: HIS PARENTS, JOHN L. AND AVELLAGADSON; AND BROTHER, IVORY O. GADSON, SR.

 

HE LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS PRECIOUS MEMORIES: DAUGHTER, LASHANDA GADSON OF TAMPA, FL; TEN SONS, BOBBY DEAN GADSON, MICHAEL HUNTER (TIKISHA) OF TAMPA,FL., WILLIAM .J GADSON (KATRINA) OF RALEIGH, N.C., JIMMY GADSON (ELIZABETH) OF INDIANAPOLIS, IN., RENARD JAMES (DAWN) OF FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., SEAN ANTHONY GADSON OF LITTLE ROCK, AR., ANTHONY DWAYNE GADSON OF AUSTIN,TX., EUGENE LEON GADSON OF AUSTIN,TX., CHRISTOPHER O’NEAL GADSON OF AUSTIN,TX., AND ERIC GADSON; SISTERS, JOHNNIE MAE GADSON HARRIS (REV. The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.  MASK RECOMMENDED.
